NCGA is pleased with farm bill
President Trump is signing the farm bill this afternoon in a ceremony at the White House.
Among those in attendance is National Corn Growers Association president Lynn Chrisp. He says it’s a relief to have the farm bill done.
“Just to have a little certainty headed into the holidays here,” Chrisp says. “It’s one less thing that we as corn producers have to worry about going forward.”
Considering the government’s budget challenges, Chrisp says, NCGA is pleased with the bill. He says their main goal was to defend crop insurance.
“It’s sound and going to provide us a good opportunity in that area, as a safety net.”
Chrisp says they’re also pleased with improvements made to the ARC-County program.
He spoke with Brownfield at the annual meeting of the Nebraska Corn Growers Association in Lincoln.
