National FFA names American Star finalists

The National FFA has announced the finalists for its top achievement award for 2019. The American Star Awards recognizes FFA members who have developed outstanding skills through their supervised agricultural experience (SAE) program.

Finalists for the American Star Farmer are Todd Peterson of Ohio, Garret Talcott of Nebraska, Nicholas Torrance of Illinois, and Willis Wolf of California. 

Finalists for the Star in Agribusiness are Blake Kennedy of Oklahoma, Hadden Powell of Georgia, Blake Quiggins of Kentucky, and Luke Scott of Ohio.

Finalists for the Star in Agricultural Placement are Nicole Harder of Washington, Cole Riggin of Kansas, Andrew Streff of South Dakota, and William Wynn of Georgia. 

Finalists for the Star in AgriScience are Courtney Cameron of Georgia, Kacie Haag of Illinois, Amelia Hayden of Wisconsin, and Olivia Pflaumer of Ohio.

A panel of judges will interview finalists and select one winner for each award at the 92nd National FFA Convention October 30-November 2 in Indianapolis. Winners will be announced Friday, November 1.
