NASDA focused on pesticide regulations

The regulation of pesticides is a focus for the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture.

NASDA CEO Ted McKinney says a day of reckoning is upon agriculture as the EPA tries to enforce endangered species protections.

“Through laws and regs, and it’s very hard, particularly when some, not all, but some NGO’s see this as the opportunity to just remove pesticides entirely.”

He tells Brownfield those efforts are misguided.

“Flat wrong, because pesticides are a great contributor to retaining the health of endangered species.”

McKinney says NASDA is ready to work with EPA on developing an Endangered Species Act compliance strategy that farmers can support and comply with while safeguarding endangered species.
