More soybean growers actively managing SCN resistance

A study funded by the United Soybean Board shows more soybean growers actively managing soybean cyst nematode. SCN is the number-one yield-grabbing pathogen of soybeans in North America.

The study found as many as 18% more soybean growers are actively managing resistance compared with 2015.

The 2020 survey found nearly 50% of growers are now rotating sources of genetic SCN resistance and 25% identified Peking as their resistance source.

Sixty-six percent of growers say they’re planting SCN-resistant soybean varieties.

The study credits the SCN Coalition – a public/private partnership – for the increased awareness and actions taken by soybean growers.
