Temperature extremes across Missouri right now are considered by the state climatologist as unusual but not a sign of an early frost or freeze.
“In regard to the next two to three weeks, there are no indications as of yet for any extreme temperature conditions with any early frost. That is not in the signs right now,” says Pat Guinan, on Thursday’s MU Forage online town hall.
Guinan says the extreme lows and highs in Missouri are not a sign of anything to come, “These extreme conditions that we’re seeing with these incredible temperature disparities, it really has no bearing on what sort of pattern is going to set up later this fall or in the winter. They’re sort of a separate thing.”
Guinan says temperatures are expected to begin moderating this weekend.
