Missouri farmers easing into harvest

The USDA reports Missouri crops are maturing about on pace with the five-year average with five percent of corn harvested.

As of Sunday, 44 percent of the crop had reached maturity with just half in the good to excellent category, steady with the prior week.

Ten percent of soybeans were dropping leaves with 91 percent setting pods. Soybean condition continued its decline, down one point to 49 percent good to excellent.

Missouri cotton remains unchanged at 52 percent good, with 35 percent opening bolls.

Rice conditions did see a slight week-to-week improvement at 58% good to excellent, while pasture condition declined to 31 percent.
