Missouri corn planting has big jump

Missouri farmers made good corn planting progress over the past week.

With nearly six days suitable for fieldwork, 86% of Missouri’s corn crop is planted, up 23% on the week, 59% ahead of last year, and 24% more than the five year average.

16% of soybeans are planted, compared to 13% on average.

34% of winter wheat has headed, compared to 56% on average, with 51% of the crop rated good to excellent.

63% of topsoil and 53% of subsoil has adequate moisture.
