Sorenson new Minnesota Wheat executive director

Minnesota Wheat has a new executive director.

Brian Sorenson will begin his position April 2nd and tells Brownfield spending the past six years as a program manager for the Northern Crops Institute helped prepare him for the role.

“I’ve worked very closely with people from all over the world, whether it’s millers, bakers, buyers, to help them see the value and quality of the wheat from our area. The hard red spring that we grow up here.”

He says Minnesota Wheat has an important story to share.

“There’s a very long tradition of producing the high-quality wheat that worked its way down into the Minneapolis area of course, and helped Minneapolis become basically flour city.”

Minnesota Association of Wheat Growers president Kevin Leiser says Sorenson brings a lot of great attributes and they are excited to work with him.
