Minnesota Corn Growers Association named 2021 Friend of 4-H

Minnesota 4-H and the Minnesota Corn Growers Association are working together to highlight opportunities in agriculture.

University of Minnesota Extension educator Brian McNeill says through the partnership, new youth programming and activities are available.

“To reach young people and really broaden their horizons of what agriculture, agronomy, and other ag-related things that they can participate in.”

He tells Brownfield Minnesota Corn has helped arrange tours that showcase potential pathways in agriculture.

“We are bringing young people to either an industry, a farm, or even a college (so they) can see the potential of what they can do in the future as far as a degree, college, or even a career.”

Minnesota 4-H recently named the Minnesota Corn Growers Association as their 2021 Friend of 4-H.  McNeill says over the past four years, Minnesota Corn has provided funding and encouragement to grow a small collection of ideas into a multifaceted statewide program that reaches hundreds of young people annually.
