MI Ag CORE open for enrollment

Farmers and agribusiness professionals interested in growing their leadership skills can now apply for the MI Ag CORE program.

Carla Schulz went through the program last year.

“One way I’ve actually used this already as a director for the United Soybean Board,” she tells Brownfield. “The MI AG CORE gave me a lot of information and just leadership qualities to take on to that director position that I’m now serving federally.”

The leadership series focuses on personal skills in Communication, Organization, Relationships and Engagement, and was developed by the Michigan Potato Industry Commission, Michigan Soybean Committee, and Michigan Wheat Program.

Applications for the year long program are due November 1.

Schulz operates Eight Plates Farm with her family in Michigan’s Thumb and works for Star of the West Milling Company.
