McFarlane expands universal tillage lineup

A farm machinery manufacturer is expanding its lineup of universal tillage tools.

McFarlane design engineer Jeff Marggi says the company is responding to the market.

“We had areas that had stickier soils that are not able to use gang machines due to plugging. We also have areas that have rocks, and (farmers) are concerned with damaging disc blades and how much time it takes to change those blades out to repair them.”

He tells Brownfield the independent idea for the Incite-i 5200 Universal Tillage Tool is a machine that can go into wet, sticky soils without plugging, and can be quickly repaired.

The ICi 5200 also has a staggered rear rolling basket design that Marggi says provides almost 100 percent coverage to make the most level seedbed.
