McDonald’s plans ‘producer-focused’ campaign

McDonald’s is planning a new ad campaign that will feature agricultural producers.

Debbie Roberts, general manager of McDonald’s Midwest Region, told Nebraska Farm Bureau annual meeting attendees that the campaign will roll out in 2012.

“We will actually bring to the consumer, via media, the folks who are actually producing the product,” Roberts says.  “They will have the opportunity to meet those folks, see them on TV—you know, put the face with the product—so that they know it’s coming from the farms.

“It’s coming from the actual producers—and here’s the person that’s doing that.”

Roberts says ads are in response to the increasing number of consumer questions that McDonald’s receives about where its food comes from.
