Livestock and ag entries contribute to record-breaking MO State Fair

The Missouri State Fair, held in Sedalia last month, had record attendance this year.

The Missouri Department of Agriculture says 350,000 people visited the grounds throughout the 10-day event, a 2.5% increase from last year.

Livestock competition and entry numbers made a large contribution to the record. Ag Director Chris Chinn says there were more than 25,500 livestock and competitive entries. That includes a more than 30% increase in participation for dairy cattle, rabbit exhibits and ag building entries like hams, bacon and horticulture.

The 2024 Missouri State Fair will be August 8 – 18 in Sedalia, Missouri.
