Kansas winter wheat rating moves higher

The winter wheat rating for Kansas saw a month-to-month improvement.

The USDA says 57% of the crop is called good to excellent, 3% above a month ago and 38% more than a year ago.

Soil moisture levels remain considerably better than this time last year.

The USDA’s weekly crop progress and condition reports resume in April.
