Iowa soybean harvest pace ahead of average

Harvest is in full swing across Iowa.

USDA’s latest weekly crop report says soybeans are 26 percent harvested, three days behind last year but one day ahead of the five-year average.

Corn harvest, at 11 percent, trails last year’s pace but is close to normal.

The moisture content of corn being harvested for grain is averaging 22 percent.

Harvest progress is furthest along in northwest Iowa, the driest part of the state.
