Iowa Pork celebrates Pork Month with Purchase Moore Hamann Bacon campaign

The Iowa Pork Producers Association is hoping a football-themed play on words will help drive demand for ham and bacon this fall.

IPPA president Trish Cook, a pig farmer from Buchanon County, says a photo of two Iowa State University football players went viral after the first game of the season.

“And they’re names are Hamann and Bacon, and people had kind of messaged Iowa Pork and said this is an opportunity you might want to pounce on. And boy were they right.”

Iowa Pork is partnering with Cyclones Tommy Hamann, Caleb Bacon, as well as Myles Purchase and Tyler Moore, for the Purchase Moore Hamann Bacon campaign during Pork Month in October.

“This is a really fun way to kind of kick it off and remind people that (in) Iowa we raise great, delicious pork. We’re the number one state in the nation to raise it, and we’re really proud of what we have as a product.”

Cook says in conjunction with the Name, Image, Likeness partnership, the Iowa Pork Producers Association will donate $1,000 of pork to each player’s food pantry of choice.
