Indiana honors farm families established since 1824

Nearly 60 Indiana farm families have been recognized with Hoosier Homestead Awards.

Farms must be owned by the same family for more than 100 consecutive years and consist of more than 20 acres to be honored.

Indiana State Department of Agriculture Director Don Lamb says two farms this year received the Bicentennial Award for 200 years of continuous ownership as part of the National Ag Week celebrations.

Centennial Awards for 100 years of ownership and the Sesquicentennial Award for 150 years of ownership were also given during the ceremony.

Farms recognized can be found here.
