Indiana farmer says he’s ready for the start of planting season

An Indiana farmer says he doesn’t plan to deviate from their planting intentions for 2023.

Mike Koene tells Brownfield, “we’re going to stick to a 50/50 rotation and we just hope for the best every year.” He says he’s still a few weeks away from starting, but already has a better feeling about his bottom line for 2023.  “Fertilizer prices have softened a little bit, that helps,” he says.  “We always keep commodity prices in the back of our mind, you know, what are they doing?”

Koene farms in Greensburg, IN, which is Southeast of Indianapolis.
