Near ideal weather conditions helped Indiana’s farmers catch up on corn and soybean harvest.

According to the latest weekly Crop and Weather report 87 percent of the state’s corn crop and 91 percent of soybeans have been harvested, on pace with the 5-year average.  The average moisture content for corn is 17 percent and the average moisture for soybeans in 13 percent.

Ninety-one percent of winter wheat has been planted, 77 percent emerged, and 73 percent is rated good to excellent.  The warmer than average weather has kept pastures in better condition than the usual.
