Illinois Performance Tested Bull sale nears record average

The 2023 Illinois Performance Tested Bull Sale averaged $4,440 on 49 lots, the second highest average in the history of the sale.  

The top selling bull was a yearling Angus consigned by Keith and Brady Kramer of Farina and sold to Thomas Laue of Shumway for $8,250. The high selling senior Angus bull was purchased for $7,500 and consigned by Seagraves Angus of Mulberry Grove.

Pleasant Street Farms in Ohio, Illinois purchased the high selling senior Simmental bull from Bob Fitzpatrick of Milan for $8,000.  The high selling yearling Simmental was consigned by Fox Creek Cattle of Newton and sold for $6,000.

Sale Manager Travis Meteer says the annual sale held at the Illinois Beef Expo continues to be one of the best sources for total performance genetics in the Midwest.
