Illinois corn, soybean harvests near the finish line

Harvest activity in Illinois is about to come to a close.

The USDA’s state office of the National Agricultural Statistics Service says conditions in Illinois were warmer and drier than normal, allowing the corn harvest to reach 94% and helping soybeans get to 95%.

93% of the winter wheat crop is planted and 78% has emerged. 69% of winter wheat is in good to excellent shape.
