Husker Food Connection will raise ag awareness

Ag students from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will be educating their fellow students about agriculture at a new event called the Husker Food Connection.

It takes place Tuesday, April 10th on UNL’s city campus.

The event will feature free food, livestock displays and a mechanical bull. And, according to Willow Holoubek of the Alliance for the Future of Agriculture in Nebraska (A-FAN), it’s also a chance for the ag students to dispel some myths about agriculture and answer questions about the nation’s food system.

“Our agriculture students will be sharing facts about agriculture—what we do, what it means to Nebraska, why they’re interested in careers in the agricultural industry, and the impact that it makes–not only on our food tables, but on our economy, our technologies, and different ways across society,” Holoubek says.

The event is co-sponsored by A-FAN and the UNL College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences.
