House Ag Committee leadership frustrated by dicamba court ruling

Leaders of the House Agriculture Committee are frustrated by the recent dicamba court ruling.

Ranking Member Mike Conaway says he’s thoroughly disappointed that the nation’s crop protection regulatory process continues to be hijacked by radical judges like those on the Ninth Circuit.

Chair Collin Peterson calls the products critically important, and he questions the timing of the court decision with so many crops in the ground and crop protection decisions already made.

 In a letter to EPA Administrator Wheeler Friday, Peterson urged the agency to provide flexibility to growers with dicamba products.

The EPA on Monday announced it is cancelling the registrations of the three dicamba herbicides subject to the ruling, but will allow growers and applicators to use existing stocks through July 31st.
