Hay donated to tornado victims
A northern Illinois community is helping a farmer whose farm was destroyed in last month’s tornadoes. According to WIFR out of Rockford, Illinois, the Northern Illinois Chapter of the Northwest Forage and Grasslands Council has volunteered to donate hay to help feed Kirkland farmer Tom Bell’s livestock.
Don Brown with the Northwest Forage and Grasslands Council says they are filling in for farmers until they get their feed supply rebuilt and have a crop growing.
The council is also helping other farmers recently affected by the storms with hay supplies.
