Harvest winding down in Arkansas

Arkansas farmers are nearing the harvest finish line for most major crops.

The USDA reports as of Sunday 99% of rice is harvested followed by soybeans at 91%, cotton at 88% and peanuts at 73% complete. All are above the five-year average pace.

Winter wheat planting is 54% complete, with 31% of the crop emerged, both slightly behind average. The agency rates the crop 56% good to excellent.
