Harvest virtually complete in Minnesota
Harvest is virtually finished in Minnesota.
According to USDA’s latest Crop Progress report, only the east central part of the state was lagging behind because of too much moisture.
The pace of harvest statewide is a week ahead of the five year average, and USDA says other field work is winding down as well.
Topsoil moisture is 88 percent adequate to surplus as of Sunday, with subsoil moisture at 79 percent adequate to surplus.
Abnormally warm temperatures last week were noted as being beneficial to livestock as some producers weaned calves and moved cattle to winter lots.
