Hartzler hopeful Trump won’t nix NAFTA

A Missouri Republican congresswoman who wants a vote on the US Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA) soon says she hopes President Trump does not end NAFTA before a vote, “I don’t think that would be beneficial at all. NAFTA was beneficial for agriculture in the whole and this USMCA agreement builds on that and it improves that.”

Representative Vicky Hartzler, who spoke with Brownfield Ag News before the August recess, says she hopes Trump doesn’t make good on the threat he made at the end of last year, “I don’t think there’s a benefit to doing away with it and I’m hopeful that it won’t come to that.”

Hartzler says she would like to see House Speaker Nancy Pelosi bring the USMCA to a vote when lawmakers return in September.
