Grassley says U.S. must keep pressure on China

Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley says the U.S. needs to keep the pressure on China to resolve trade issues. And Grassley says there are indications that the Chinese economy is feeling the pain.

“There’s already evidence that they’re consulting with some of their counterparts in our government about getting negotiations going,” Grassley says, “and we have turned them down until they put something on the table—and they aren’t willing to put something on the table.”

Grassley acknowledges the trade war with China has hurt U.S. farmers. But he says China’s theft of American ideas and innovation must stop. In Grassley’s words, “it’s critical we don’t let off the gas pedal”.
