Global soybean market remains competitive

The global market for soybeans is competitive and a commodity broker says that won’t change anytime soon.

Jody Lawrence of Strategic Training Advisors tells Brownfield…

“Brazil and Argentina are going to outproduce us in soybeans, we will never catch up to them, by more than double.”

He says U.S. farmers need to take advantage of production issues in other parts of the world.

“A great opportunity to market your soybeans is always when there is a South American weather problem. Price is going to go up because they are such a significant supplier of that to the world, and to china in particular, that you know US prices are going to go up from it.”

Lawrence says by knowing their bottom line and understanding market dynamics, farmers can better manage their risks.
