Fieldwork rain delayed for corn leader

A West Michigan farmer is optimistic this week’s warm-up will help dry up fields.

Randy Poll farms 3,000 acres of corn, soybeans, and wheat, and raises hogs with his family in Hamiton.

“We’re in a slight rain delay, we’ve had a lot of rain here lately,” he says.

In the meantime, Poll tells Brownfield his family is focusing on equipment maintenance and is grateful for the added subsoil moisture.

Poll is serving as the Michigan Corn Growers Association president.
