Farmers can apply for CFAP online

The USDA’s Farm Service Agency is now accepting Coronavirus Food Assistance Program applications online.

The agency says its online portal will “leverage commercial document storage and e-signature solutions” to complete applications at home.

FSA Administrator Richard Fordyce says the agency is doing everything it can to make sure producers impacted by the pandemic can quickly and securely apply for the program.

Producers can apply through the farmers.gov portal, where they will be able to certify eligible commodities online, digitally sign applications, and submit directly to the local USDA Service Center.

As of June 22, the USDA has paid $4 billion in CFAP payments to more than 252,000 producers.
