Farmer pleased with grain quality potential

Central Indiana farmer Mike Beard says he’s anticipating an above-average crop and is looking forward to harvesting high-quality grain.

“I’m really excited about having good quality grain to put in the bin this year,” he says. “It will be easier to dry and probably won’t cost as much to dry.”

He grows corn and soybeans in Clinton County.

“I think we’re going to see higher test weights, better quality, along with a little higher yield,” he says.

Beard says last year’s yield was average but he had grain quality issues.
