Farmer discusses grain market volatility

Northwest central Ohio farmer Patty Mann says grain market volatility has kept her on her toes.

“Wow what a ride it’s been pretty much all winter long and with the challenges across the world, the volatility we’re seeing is unprecedented,” she says. “It’s good to see some bigger numbers as far as commodity prices are concerned.”

She tells Brownfield a profit and loss projection factoring in high input costs and commodity prices shows “The bottom line is probably not going to look too different. I’m hoping for a good planting season so we can get out there and get rolling again. Everyone is excited here to be able to have an opportunity to do it all over again.”

Mann raises corn and soybeans in Shelby County.
