Expired Biodiesel Tax Credit moving in right direction

The expired Biodiesel Tax Credit is another step closer to being reinstated.

Thursday night, the House Ways and Means Committee approved the Taxpayer Certainty and Disaster Relief Act of 2019, a broad tax bill that would revive the $1 dollar per-gallon credit.

However, Kurt Kovarik with the National Biodiesel Board tells Brownfield Senate Republicans probably won’t support the package.

“This is the first or second step in a multi-step process.”

He says while there’s bipartisan support for the Biodiesel Tax Credit, other policies in the legislation have been criticized by Republicans.

The Taxpayer Certainty and Disaster Relief Act also includes incentives for biofuels infrastructure and wind power.
