Ethanol groups welcome year-round E15

American Coalition for Ethanol CEO Brian Jennings is thanking the EPA for making good on President Trump’s promise of year-round E15 for this summer.

“Because we know that took enormous effort. Recall there was a government shutdown that interrupted work on this.”

Growth Energy CEO Emily Skor calls year-round E15 a game changer for the ethanol industry, corn farmers, and rural America.

“Over time, the demand for E15 could boost the market for American grain by an additional 2 billion bushels every year.”

She tells Brownfield it’s harder to anticipate what’s going to happen in the next year, but Skor is hearing from retailers who’ve been anxiously awaiting the removal of burdensome Reid Vapor Pressure regulations.

Renewable Fuels Association CEO Geoff Cooper says E15 has a proven track record of saving drivers money and reducing emissions, and today’s action will ensure that more Americans are able to enjoy those benefits.

Cooper expects the oil industry to sue EPA, but he says there’s very little risk of legal action slowing implementation of year-round E15 now that the final rule is published.
