Ethanol groups push EPA on June 1st E15

Ethanol groups filed comments in support of the EPA’s proposed E15 rule, on the last day to submit them, on Monday.

Growth Energy CEO Emily Skor says unless the EPA acts quickly, the summer market for E15 will be lost, “We cannot afford to let anything to derail this opportunity to help revitalize growth in the Heartland and urge regulators to get this rule over the finish line by June 1st. Just as President Trump directed.”

Like the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA), the American Coalition for Ethanol (ACE), supports year-round E15 but not EPA’s proposed reforms for the RIN credit market. ACE says that plan would “consolidate power in the hands of certain oil refiners, limiting wholesalers, blenders and retailers from using RIN value to sell higher blends of ethanol.”
