Ernst focusing on 2023 Farm Bill

A US Senator from Iowa says the 2023 Farm Bill will be a priority heading into next year.

Republican Joni Ernst tells Brownfield feedback from farmers is important. “We make sure we are understanding their concerns,” she said. “And then moving ahead in a way that hopefully will be bipartisan, and we get the farm bill done and secured for another five years.”

She says that means taking a closer look at several issues. “A lot of what I focus on will of course be making sure that crop insurance is remaining strong,” Ernst said. “That’s always important to the farmers. But then the conservation title of the farm bill is always something we take a lot of time with.”

Ernst serves on the Senate Ag Committee.
