Enlist E3 soybeans in ‘full launch’ mode

Enlist E3 soybeans have now achieved “full launch” status after receiving final import approval from the Philippines this week.

David Thompson with Stine Seeds says it great news for soybean growers.

“It puts the product in a non-stewarded status now, so it’s able to be planted across a wide number of acres in the U.S.,” Thompson says. “Growers need options and I think they’ve been chomping at the bit to get their hands on another solution. I think this is going to present a good one for them.”

Supplies of the Enlist beans, industry-wide, will be somewhat limited this year. But Thompson expects major growth starting in 2020.

“Conservatively, we’re looking to see this probably be a ten percent market share of acres next year (industry-wide). But I think then from there it just continues to go up,” he says.

The Enlist trait is a three-gene stack with tolerance to 2,4-D choline, glyphosate and glufosinate.
