Election Day’s potential impact on the markets

It’s Election Day and an extension market analyst says today’s results could have an impact on the livestock market.

University of Missouri’s Scott Brown says it isn’t so much about who the country elects – volatility is likely if there is uncertainty surrounding today’s results.

He says it isn’t the first time it’s taken longer than expected to see who ends up in the White House.   “I think the longer that we go before we know who won the Presidency and who won a number of these a number of these very important Senate races and see whether or not the Democrats take control of the Senate or Republicans remain in control, add some volatility to markets,” he says.

He tells Brownfield be cautious when looking ahead this week’s markets, especially if a winner isn’t declared at the end of the day.
