Demand continues to rise for E15

E15 sales are on pace to break another record this year.

Geoff Cooper is the President and CEO of the Renewable Fuels Association. “Much of that was facilitated by the fact that the Biden administration issued a series of emergency waivers that allowed retailers to continue selling E15 through the summer months,” he said.

Cooper tells Brownfield E15 is needed to help keep gas prices in check. “This fuel is being offered at a substantial discount to regular gasoline, or E10,” Cooper said. “In many cases we were seeing E15 priced 25-to-30 cents less per gallon than E10.”

E15 sales hit a record 814 million gallons in 2021.
