DDG exports on par with strong year-ago levels

2022 has been another strong year for U.S. Dried Distillers Grain exports.

Renewable Fuels Association senior analyst Ann Lewis says DDG exports were the third largest on record last year at 11.6 million metric tons.

“And this year, January to August, we are on par with last year (and) so far this year we’ve exported 7.7 million metric tons.”

Speaking to Brownfield from the Export Exchange in Minneapolis Thursday, she says the top markets remain the same.

“Mexico is our largest market, Vietnam is behind it, as well as South Korea.”

Lewis says DDG demand from Canada, the top importer of U.S. ethanol, is higher compared to a year ago.
