Crops decline in South Dakota

Just 25% of South Dakota corn is in good or better condition. Nearly 40% is poor to very poor. 80% of corn is at the dough stage, ahead of the five year average. Six percent of the crop is mature.

Soybean ratings are 37 percent poor, 38% fair and 24% good.

Ninety-four percent are setting pods, ahead of last year and the average.

Ninety-five percent of spring wheat and oats are harvested.

Sorghum progress is equal to last year and condition is mostly in the poor to fair categories.

Eighty-one percent of pastures and ranges are in very poor to poor shape.
