Crop conditions improve following June windstorm

A southeast Nebraska farmer says most of his crops have recovered from a windstorm that swept through the area last month.

Logan Bredemeier farms near the Missouri River. “That flattened some of our corn, but it has since recovered,” he said. “It looks great. It will be a challenge come harvest, but hopefully it all stays upright. It is what it is.”

He tells Brownfield the upcoming forecast could present some challenges.

“Dry and some heat for the next two weeks,” Bredemeier said. “Hopefully we come out of that smelling like a rose the best that we can and have a good harvest with some good prices again.”

Bredemeier spoke during Brownfield’s Tailgate Talk this week.
