Chrisp: Farmer patience for Trump is “growing thin”

After another series of small refinery waivers were issued to oil refiners, the President of the National Corn Growers Association says many farmers are concerned about what’s going on in Washington. Lynn Chrisp says, “I can say that the mood is changed significantly in the last ten days in farm country with a couple of bad announcements happening back to back here, and patience is growing thin.”

Lynn Chrisp tells Brownfield recent decisions including President Trump’s EPA granting 31 additional refinery waivers did not help ethanol producers or farmers. “Whether that’s enough to change attitudes at the ballot box, I don’t know, but enthusiasm is not what it was.”

Trump carried many farm states in 2016.

Chrisp says he hopes for good results to a bad situation the administration apparently didn’t see coming.
