Chinn: State Fair about coming together

Missouri’s Ag Director Chris Chinn helped kick off the opening of the 2019 Missouri State Fair with words of encouragement for farmers.

“We all know that it’s been a very challenging year in agriculture this year. We faced so many hardships. But the one thing that you see here at the Missouri State Fair are farmers and ranchers and small business owners coming together to support one another to make sure that their neighbors are okay. It’s kind of like getting your cup filled back up.”

Chinn says the theme of this year’s fair, ‘COME HOME,’ is fitting, “Every year the Missouri State Fair serves as a family reunion for those of us in and outside of agriculture.”

The Missouri State Fair in Sedalia runs through August 18th.
