Buckeye Shepherd’s Symposium

Small ruminant nutrition will be the focus of the 2011 Buckeye Shepherd’s Symposium coming up on Saturday, December 10 at the Agricultural Technical Institute (ATI) at Wooster.

Roger High, Executive Director of the Ohio Sheep Improvement Association tells Brownfield the program will feature several well-known animal nutritionists.

“Dr. Steve Loerch, Dr. Francis Fluharty and Dr. Bill Weiss, all at OARDC Wooster, specialists in ruminant nutrition will be talking about nutrition in sheep and goats and we also have Andy Korb who’s with Kalmbach Feeds is going to be talking about ration balancing and what to feed ewes and the doe’s,” said High. “We’re also doing a youth program, Dr. Carrie Pickworth is coming back to do the youth program, so lots of exciting things.
