Biden looks to North Carolina regulator to lead EPA

President-elect Biden has reportedly nominated North Carolina’s top environmental regulator to be the next administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.

If confirmed, Michael Regan would be the first Black man to run EPA.

Renewable Fuels Association CEO Geoff Cooper congratulated Regan Thursday, saying RFA looks forward to working with the new administration to ensure that low-carbon renewable fuels like ethanol play an expanded role in efforts to slash toxic tailpipe pollution, cut greenhouse gas emissions, and combat climate change.
