Bayer’s regional brands to move under Channel umbrella by 2025

Bayer

Bayer is reorganizing its seed business and streamlining the seed buying experience for its customers.  The company announced on Wednesday that it will combine the best elements of its regional brands and the Channel brands to create a more robust Channel brand.

Bayer says the move will strengthen dealer relationships and allow the company to invest more in agronomic support and products that benefit customers. The company says it is hiring more technical agronomists to better serve farmers.

In a statement to Brownfield, a Bayer spokesperson said the change will affect some of the brands and people, but the vast majority of the company’s business will not be impacted and the shift will not impact pricing.

Existing regional brand products will be available through the 2024 growing season and will shift to a portfolio of Channel products beginning in 2025.

Bayer’s regional brands are:
Jung Seed Genetics (Wisconsin)
Kruger Seeds (Iowa)
Stone Seed Group (Illinois)
Fontenelle (Nebraska)
Stewart (Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio)
Lewis (Missouri, Illinois, Kansas)
Gold Country Seed (Minnesota)
Rea Hybrids (North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota)
Specialty (Indiana, Michigan, Ohio)

Dekalb and Asgrow brands will not be impacted.
