Arkansas crops: 99% rice, 82% soybeans harvested

Heavy precipitation put a halt to harvest progress for many crops last week.  According to the latest report from the USDA 84 percent of cotton has been harvested, still behind the 5-year average. 

Rice harvest is 99 percent complete.

Peanut harvest is 55 percent complete with 91 percent of the crop dug.

Eighty-two percent of soybeans have been harvested.

Seventy-eight percent of winter wheat has been planted, with 61 percent emerged, and 62 percent is rated good to excellent.

Rainfalls have helped to restore soil moisture as 95 percent of Topsoil moisture and 90 percent of subsoil moisture are called adequate to surplus.
