Arkansas crops: 79% cotton, 64% rice rated good to excellent

Moderate precipitation fell across Arkansas this past week

Ninety-seven percent of rice has been planted with 92 percent emerged, with 64 percent of the crop rated good to excellent.

Eighty-six percent of soybeans have been planted, 75 percent emerged, and 67 percent of the crop is rated good to excellent.  Ninety-five percent of the cotton crop has emerged, 11 percent is squaring, and 79 percent of the crop is rated good to excellent

Ninety-eight percent of peanuts have been planted and 93 percent emerged, and 88 percent of the crop is rated good to excellent. 

Sixty-eight percent of the state’s corn crop is rated good to excellent and 10 percent of the crop is silking.

Fifty percent of the winter-wheat crop has been harvested.

Eighty-two percent of the hay crop has had its first cutting and 51 percent of the crop is rated good to excellent. 

80 percent of Topsoil and 84 percent of Subsoil are called adequate to surplus.
